Alberto Casado Cerviño
Alberto Casado Cerviño (born on 15 October 1952 in Pontevedra, Spain〔Spanish Patent and Trademark Office web site, (''Appointment of the new Director General of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office'' ). Consulted on December 4, 2009.〕) is the Director General of the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office. He has held this position since May 24, 2008.〔 Ministerio de Industria, Turismo y Comercio (BOE 126 de 24/5/2008), (Real Decreto 881/2008, de 23 de mayo, por el que se nombra Director de la Oficina Española de Patentes y Marcas a don Alberto Casado Cerviño ). Rango: Real Decreto, Páginas: 24360 - 24360, Referencia: 2008/09014.〕 From July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010, he also acted as Chairman ad interim of the Administrative Council of the European Patent Organisation.〔European Patent Office (EPO) web site, (''Administrative Council, Composition'' ). Consulted on December 4, 2009.〕 Previously, from 1994 to 2004, he served as Vice-President of the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM).
In June 2012, Alberto Casado Cerviño was appointed to the position of Vice-President DG 2 ("Directorate-General Operational Support") of the European Patent Office with a mandate for five years.〔
